Well, about time for an update. The last two months have not gone well for ZCM and unfortunately due to raccoon break-ins and a URI spreading around I have lost the majority of my mice. It's been hard to keep going, but I plan on continuing with at least two of my projects and just trying to get through the winter. I'll be rehoming the remainders of a few of my projects to other breeders so I can try and just cut back and recover from it all.

ZCM has true hairless! My shipment of hairless and swiss websters arrived today, and everyone is looking great. They're still young, so no guarantees when I'll have babies available. Here are a few pics:

Shari from Carpe Noctem Mousery made the hike down here to exchange mice! She took about two dozen of my mice (including siamese, merle, rex/texel, broken, brindle, and more) in exchange for my new satin does and a breeding harem of (surprise! can't tell you :P). Satin does Agate, Dainty, Kumquat, and Nips:

As of today, ZCM has fuzzy hairless! Thanks to Allison from Neudai Mice, three does (silver rex, lilac fuzzy, himi fuzzy) and a buck (silver fuzzy hairless) are now settling in here to contribute to other lines and start a new FH line.

Very excited to announce the start of a new project at ZCM. I will have a line dedicated to black and blue siamese / himalayan mice. Thank you Irma for my starter trio!

New pages up! Finally got around to adding day-by-day examples. Head on over to Galleries to check them out!

The new website is up and running! I put a lot of time and effort into the new design and setup, so I hope everyone enjoys! I am accepting links to add to my links page - please email me if you would like me to list you, and would link back.

ZCM's first rex litter is doing wonderful! I am unbelievably happy with how they turned out. Below is a picture of the blue tan rex, Chess, at 16 days old.

Figured I'd post and update on how my mouse rack is doing for the winter. After being enclosed in shower curtains to keep the wind/rain out and insulated with bubble wrap, everyone is doing great! The mice have been very adaptive to the varying weather. It's not uncommon for the weather to get into the low 20's and everyone is still happy and healthy. The pic to the right was taken today, on a sunny but below-freezing winter day. Everyone is warm and dry!
(pic coming soon of it all wrapped up, and open on this day)

Happy New Years!  More announcements to make.  First off, my two new roan and rex bucks have each produced two litters.  The first rex litter went to Steven Cowan (Hemlock Stud), in exchange for my new gorgeously typed mice, and two merles.  Pictures of everyone are in the mousery database.

Eight mice from ZCM found great pet homes this month. Thank you to the families who adopted these girls!

Gigantic thanks and a hug to Steven (Hemlock Stud) for meeting me in Portland to swap mice! I picked up my typey chocs/chams Abercrombie, Fitch, Voodoo, Flynn, and Marina, and my two merle does Tacy and Tib. Steven brought back with him my buck Kohlrabi and doe Cadence, who was pregnant with a rex litter out of my buck Cornwell.

Things are going extremely well!  All the mice are great, actually having litters (a problem I had constantly last winter), and I've been able to pick up some really pretty new ones recently.  I've decided to keep everyone in the rack through the winter (I've wind/water/weather proofed it), so we'll see how that goes.

Two genes I've recently gotten are roan and rex, so fingers crossed for some speckled and sheepie babies soon!

I am very happy to say that I've finished my first mouse rack! For the summer I am keeping everyone outside in the fresh air. I'll have pictures posted of the rack under About soon. It has a total of 20 sliding cages, room for everyone. =)
